MKNM Higher Secondary School, Kumaramangalam
Vision & Values
The story of MKNM Higher Secondary School, Kumaramangalam (MKNM HSS) is deeply rooted in vision, social reform, and community progress. Established in 1952 by Malayattil Ramachandran Nair, a visionary reformer dedicated to uplifting rural society through education, the school was born out of a dream to provide children of Kumaramangalam and its neighboring villages with opportunities for quality learning.
What began as a modest Upper Primary School soon grew into a thriving center of learning. In 1966, it was upgraded to a High School, enabling hundreds of young learners to pursue education closer to home. By the dawn of the new millennium, in 2000, the institution proudly earned its Higher Secondary status, becoming one of the leading gateways for advanced studies in the Idukki district. Over the decades, MKNM HSS has shaped generations of students, empowering them to excel not only in academics but also in professional and social life.
Today, MKNM HSS is widely recognized as a premier institution in Idukki, combining Kerala’s educational heritage with modern facilities and progressive teaching methods. It continues to uphold its founding principle: education as a tool for empowerment and service to society.
“Education for Enlightenment and Service.”
This guiding principle reflects our belief that education must not only illuminate the mind but also inspire individuals to serve humanity with compassion and responsibility.
